Jim Ewing brings over twenty years of financial industry experience to the team. As portfolio manager, Jim oversees the investment strategies and portfolio management for each of our clients. In this role he creates and manages discretionary model portfolios, implements strategies overseen by select third-party managers and customizes investment strategies tailored to each client’s unique circumstances and risk tolerance to help them reach their goals. Jim has a wealth of experience deploying sophisticated strategies to help professionals, business owners and their families with their complex financial needs. Jim is committed to building long-lasting relationships with clients to better understand their needs, help them navigate their financial lives and to serve each as a true fiduciary.
Prior to Hightower, Jim served as First Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor at Merrill Lynch for nearly a decade. He previously worked for several years as an Associate Vice President and Financial Advisor at AG Edwards and Sons, where he began building the team's advisory practice as it exists today.
Jim received a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Communication Studies from West Chester University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® (CRPC®) and Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist® (CRPS®) designations. He also holds the Series 7, 9, 10, 63, 66 and Life and Health Insurance licenses.
Jim is an active member of the Pi Kappa Phi Alumni Association. He serves on the Planned Giving Committee of Samaritan Hospice and is a past president of LeTip of Cherry Hill. To support his neighborhood swim club as well as the Cherry Hill Education Foundation, Jim founded the Fox Hollow 5k run/walk and has served as race director for the past five years. He also volunteers as a coach at Cherry Hill Atlantic Little League. Jim lives in Cherry Hill with his wife, Christine, and their two children.
